Marianne Mason has headed the Board of Trustees since 1996, currently overseeing foreign teacher exchange programs for some 650 foreign teachers annually in French, Greek, Spanish, German, Italian and Mandarin immersion, International and Baccalaureate schools and in public and charter schools across the U.S.  Also a writer/director, she produced three dozen orientation and instruction videos for the Cordell Hull Foundation and has staged annual new-teacher orientation workshops in four languages in twenty US cities including New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, New Orleans, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Detroit, Indianapolis, Portland OR, and Salt Lake City.   See CHF Orientation Videos and Instruction Videos.

Ms. Mason’s book, J1 Visa Uncloaked–Complete Cultural Training Guide, Vol. II, available on, offers a collection of cultural adjustment orientation materials for CHF’s international teachers from sixty countries plus information about the J-1 teacher exchange visa that supports it. Aided by professional American and foreign-born educators, she has created workshop exercises, visa and immigration booklets, and orientation manuals in English and translated into French, German, Greek, Mandarin and Spanish.

Ms. Mason holds a Master of Science degree in Non-profit Management from New School University (NYC) and a post-grad Non-profit Management Certificate from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.  Fluent in French and Spanish, she lives in Manhattan.  Her career in education began as a teacher of French in a public school.
